FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

No, you do not need a referral to see one of our physiotherapists.

However, with your permission, we can keep other medical professionals such as your General Practitioner or other Allied Health Professionals informed of the progress of your treatment.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

We suggest wearing comfortable clothes to your appointment. If you are coming from work, we have a range of stylish active wear in the clinic which you can borrow for your appointment.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT?

Please bring along any information which may help the physiotherapist such as:

-Any paperwork from your doctor/specialist related to this injury/condition.

- Any scans and reports (including X-Rays, Ultrasounds, MRI’s, CT scans etc) related to your injury/condition.

- All your information from your Insurance Company including details and claim number (for Worker Compensation and CTP claims)

CAN I CLAIM PHYSIOTHERAPY ON MEDICARE?

Medicare does not cover physiotherapy services.

However, Medicare rebates are available to those who have been provided with an Enhanced Primary Care plan from their GP.

Most private health funds will cover for physiotherapy, depending on your level of cover.

At Accelerate Physiotherapy, we have HICAPS facilities, which allows you to claim your health fund rebate on the spot so you will only have to pay the gap fee. Please make sure you have your private health card with you.

If you have any questions about your physiotherapy rebate entitlements, please contact your health fund directly.

DO YOU ACCEPT WORKERS COMPENSATION AND INSURANCE PATIENTS?
